Technical and aggressive, yet melodic and emotional, Strung Out has emerged from the grossly populated Southern California music scene as one of the strongest and most creative melodic punk bands in the land. Strung Out formed in 1992 and instantly achieved recognition for their ability to creatively fuse punk, metal, and progressive rock. After they independently released a 7", Fat Wreck Chords didn't hesitate to pull the quintet aboard the roster. And nearly 500,000 records later (all sold independently, mind you) we couldn't be happier to have kept 'em around and be releasing their brilliant fourth full length: An American Paradox.
Fat has been lucky enough to release all three previous full length albums by these masters of the So-Cal punk scene. From their first release, Another Day in Paradise, which was released in May 1994, to their sophomore full length, Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues, and up through their third record, Twisted by Design, the boys in Strung Out have always produced hard-hitting solid releases which garner praise from critics and fans alike. Strung Out achieved continued success and even more positive feedback with their second EP, The Element of Sonic Defiance.
Strung Out were featured on the '96 and '98 Vans Warped Tours and have toured with bands such as Pennywise, Papa Roach, the Offspring, Bad Religion, NOFX, and many others. They have built a solid worldwide fanbase through years of touring and progression as songwriters and performers. And Strung Out goes to great lengths to repay their fanatical and frenzied fans. The appreciative band is always approachable at their shows and they utilize their website on a daily basis to communicate and interact with their fans. With over a million hits thus far, strung-out.com has a lot to offer and must be doing something right!
Most recently, things have been getting especially interesting for the band as Strung Out prepares to release their fourth and finest album on April 23rd entitled An American Paradox. As with all their releases, this record is the product of hard touring, dedicated songwriting, and tireless work in the studio. Unlike many of the other bands in their genre that churn out unsubstantial material, Strung Out take their sweet time with their records and it shows. Their last full length came out in early '98, and it's clear that Strung Out has devoted four years of hard work into the making of An American Paradox.
An American Paradox is the complete package: a highly anticipated record a long time in the works, killer artwork with special packaging, limited pressings that feature a bonus track, and of course a well-produced record full of amazing songs. An American Paradox has everything to offer to fans and music lovers, and you can bet that Strung Out will deliver!
